It’s that time of year again.
Spring training 2010 is almost wrapped up in Florida and Arizona and that means that regular season baseball is right around the corner. (Go ahead. Go outside and look.) I was lucky enough to make it down to Clearwater this year to soak in the sun and a few games. I made it to a Tigers game and a Yankees game which the Phillies took W’s in both. The Yankees game was on St. Patrick’s Day this year which gave Bright House Field record breaking attendance. The ball park that day was bumpin’, a sea of green and red with only a few navy blue t-shirts scattered in between. It was such a surreal experience being over 1,000 miles from Philadelphia but still seeing die hard Phils fans around every corner. On the Beach, at the hotel, in restaurants, in CVS, at the airport. Such a good feeling knowing that we’re all in this together and we’re all here for the same reason. The Phils looked great and I think they’re just going to look better and better as this season unfolds. Can the Phillies be the first NL team to reach three consecutive World Series since the Cardinals (1941-43)? This is only one persons opinion, but I think so.
P.S. I’m not shaving until Werth does.
