BUFFALO PLAID

SECOND EDITION

Buffalo Plaid 2

New for fall this second edition of the buffalo plaid print that we all know and love.  This shirt is essentially the same as the other buffalo plaid shirt with only one difference.  That being the red and white are reversed.  This is a 2 color screen print (black & white) on a red shirt.  This is the first shirt of the fall series and quantity is very limited.  This shirt is available in SMALL, MEDIUM, & LARGE.  Get them while you can and keep an eye out for the next edition in the fall series coming soon.  Keep in mind while ordering that these shirts are all hand printed one at a time and registered by eye.  No two are exactly the same and offsetting occurs on all of them.  E-mail me at seaarezea2000@yahoo.com for ordering information.

This Shirt is $20.00.

GOLD ACRYLIC on AMERICAN APPAREL

photo(8)

This one-of-a-kind limited edition American Apparel hoodie was made for Brieann Tracey.  It didn’t come out exactly as planned but instead was sort of an experimental learning process.  I was given the ink to use with this one and it was ink that I have never used before.  It was actually acrylic paint not meant for screen printing.  I did a test print on a black t-shirt first and that didn’t come out as planned either but I figured what the hell.  There’s only one way that I’m going to know if this is gonna work or not, so I placed the sweatshirt on my printing table, lowered the screen, slopped on a bunch of “paint” (not ink) and pulled the squeegee down the screen 3 or 4 times.  The moment of truth.  As I lifted the screen I noticed plenty of unwanted streaks across the print.  “SHIT!” I thought to myself.  It didn’t work.  But why?  Not sure.  Was it because I’m not used to or equipped to print sweatshirts? Was it that the paint I was given was not meant to be forced through a tiny mesh screen? Was it both of these factors?  Anyway I was pretty bummed out because I obviously wanted to come off with a beautiful acrylic gold print on a really nice sweatshirt, but that weren’t the case.  I knew this particular sweatshirt cost upwards of 30 bones and I knew Brieann would be less than happy to receive her sweatshirt back with such a low level of craftsmanship.  I slept on it.  (not the sweatshirt)  I woke up yesterday morning with the shitty printed sweatshirt fresh on my mind.  I had to do something.  “Hand paint it”  was the first thought that came to mind.  It can’t get any worse, right?  Without any delay and brush in hand I went at it.  The finished product (pictured above) came out much better that I thought it would.  Although it doesn’t appear to be screen printed (because you can see brush strokes on it) it still came out much better that I anticipated.  The true test will be today when Brieann see’s it.  So this just may be a new realm of Broad Street Bootlegs™ that has never been entered before.  The realm of hand painted apparel.  Who knows. We’ll just have to wait and see.

SF SUCKS

SF_SUCKS

I went to the Phils/Giants game last night and about 2 hours before the game I came up with this design and had to whip it out fast enough to wear it to the ballpark.  Although the Phillies got shut out 4-0 with only 5 hits I still had a good time.  I printed this design on whatever gray shirts I had sitting around and it happened to be 2-SMALL 2-MEDIUM and 2-XTRA LARGE.  So, if you would like one of these very limited “SF SUCKS” don’t wait because they will not be around for long.  This shirt is a 2 color screen print made with a hand cut contact paper stencil. That’s right. These letters were hand cut by myself and stuck to the back of the screen before being printed.  They were registered by eye so every single shirt is slightly different and offsetting occurs on all of them.  As of now there are only 5 left, so get them while you can.  The Giants may be our first opponent in the post season boys and girls so get yourself ready with this very limited, one of a kind Broad Street Bootlegs™ original.  Hand made in Philadelphia. Holla at cha boi.

Thanks, Christian.

GONE FISHIN’

normanrockwellgonefishing

Time to escape the hustle and bustle of the monotonous daily grind of everyday city living.  Even if just for one week.  I will be out of town until September.  Any pending orders will be completed and shipped when I get back from some much needed R & R.  I will be on the beach listening to the upcoming 4 game Mets series on a radio.  Not that the Mets are even a factor for us anymore.  Back in the beginning of the season when I saw this series on the schedule I was so excited to watch and listen to it thinking that it was going to be a crucial series for us just like it’s been in previous years.  Well, that’s not the case and for once in my life, like many other Phils fans I’m sure are rooting for the Mets to sweep Atlanta.  They looked really good winning the first game 9-4 but got their asses handed to them yesterday falling 15-2 to Atlanta.  Maybe the Mets can take 2 of 3 tonight at 7:10.  More importantly than us playing the Mets is the Braves-Marlins match up this weekend. I guess the best we can hope for is the Braves walking away with 2 games.  Either way, whatever happens this weekend I will be enjoying myself at the beach, drinking plenty of booze, eating large amounts of seafood, and watching plenty of baseball.  Enjoy your week everyone and Go Phils!!!

THANK YOU!

IMG_9176

To everyone who came out for First Friday this past week.  It was a huge success.  Perfect weather and one of the busiest I’ve ever saw 2nd St. for a First Friday.  Thanks to everyone who read the article in this weeks City Paper and contacted me through the site. Another busy day of printing for me today.  Lot’s more “Pheagles™” shirts to make.  I can’t seem to keep them around since the story ran.  I’m going to just be concentrating on these designs for the rest of the summer but after that there is going to be a lot of  new designs coming out this fall.  Thanks again to everyone who supported me this week.  I’m glad you see the value in the small do-it-yourself approach that I embody in all of my work.  My shirts aren’t made in a factory or using any fancy expensive machines. In my opinion, this method of craftsmanship far supasses the traditional method of T-Shirt making. I hope you agree.  Thanks for reading. Christian.

I will be in Olde City this Friday night (8-7-2009) participating in the monthly First Friday events. If you’re not familiar with First Friday’s you should definitely come check it out. 2nd street is usually filled up with plenty of people selling original art. All of the galleries are open to the public and most of them have free food and booze. I will have most of the shirts on this site with me so if you’ve been thinking about getting one now is your chance. Here’s one more reason to come out a get a shirt this Friday. Below is a coupon for $5.00 off any shirt priced $20.00 or more. Simply print this coupon, cut it out, bring it with you Friday night and just like that your shirt gets cheaper. So get your shit together. Get your printer working and hopefully I’ll see some of you guys down there this Friday night. Also, look for Broad Street Bootlegs™ in this week’s City Paper hitting the streets this Thursday August 6, 2009. My Pheagles™ shirt is being highlighted as one of the top 5 unregistered Phi**ies shirts in the city. Check it out. Thanks for reading. Christian.

BOOTLEGGIN’

Bootleggin'

Here is a picture of my set up at the Piazza at Schmidt’s in Northern Liberties on Saturday July 25th.  It was a pretty good day. It could have been better.  The $20 I spent to rent the tent above me was the best deal of the day.  The heat was murder and we would of fried without that thing.  I was debuting tote bags and bandanas that day which are now available on this site under “The Goods” page.  Overall it was a good expirence.  A lot of my friends and family stopped by to hang out.  We drank some beers and they played the 4 O’ Clock Phillies game on the jumbo tron.  I plan on attending the next “First Friday” in Olde City which falls on August 7, 2009.  So if you’re in the area and want to pick up some shirts, bags, or bandanas, holla at cha boy.  I’ll be set up somewhere on 2nd street just North of Market.  More details to be posted closer to the date.  Thanks for reading. Busy day, busy week. Everyday I’m Hustlin’.
